Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- Pour whiskey into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits, and cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add heavy cream and Dijon mustard, stirring to combine. Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over, and cook for another 5 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense whiskey flavor, add an extra splash during cooking.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
