Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) chicken breasts, cut into strips or cubes
- 12 oz (340g) pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil or butter. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add cooked chicken back into the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss in the cooked pasta, stirring gently to coat all the noodles evenly. Let everything heat through for 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for garnish. Serve immediately with additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for an extra special meal.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and melting consistency.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water or milk to loosen it.
- For a healthier option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a light cream alternative.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, adding a little milk or cream to maintain creaminess.
