- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup walnuts
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko bread crumbs.
- Dredge shrimp in flour, dip in egg, then coat with panko.
- Fry shrimp in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 minutes.
- Toast walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Add walnuts to the honey sauce and stir to coat.
- Toss crispy shrimp in the honey walnut mixture or serve with sauce drizzled over. Garnish with chopped green onions.
