Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips for added texture
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve as is or with spreads like butter or cream cheese.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender and moist.
- Start checking for doneness at 60 minutes to prevent overbaking.
- Store tightly wrapped in plastic or an airtight container to retain moisture.
