Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound rigatoni pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned, breaking apart with a spatula.
- Reduce heat to low, add minced garlic, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream, stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Mix in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- Add cooked rigatoni to the skillet, toss to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Reserve some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Serve with fresh bread and a glass of red wine for a complete romantic meal.
