- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ground beef and diced onion in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer cooked meat, then spread the soup mixture evenly over it.
- Top with frozen tater tots, spreading evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tots.
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- For a crunchy topping, add crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs in the last 5 minutes of baking.
- You can substitute ground chicken or plant-based protein for the beef.
