Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray and line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing gently just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from oven and cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, then slice into squares and serve.
Notes
- Ensure your lemons are fresh and juicy to enhance the flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the brownies tender and fudgy.
- For an extra lemon kick, add more lemon zest or juice, but adjust baking time if necessary.
