- 1 store-bought pizza crust
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh thyme sprigs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, salt, and cook until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add minced garlic and thyme leaves to the onions, cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
- Spread caramelized onions evenly over the pizza crust.
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyere and Parmesan cheese over the onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh thyme and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute Gruyere with Swiss or mozzarella cheese.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of balsamic vinegar during caramelization.
