- 8 ounces whole wheat pasta
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While pasta cooks, steam or blanch broccoli until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add cooked broccoli to the skillet and toss with garlic and oil. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Mix in the cooked pasta, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Optional: drizzle with lemon juice for added brightness.
- Serve warm garnished with extra Parmesan and herbs if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- You can substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast for a vegan version.
