Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) honey garlic ground beef
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or canola oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the honey garlic ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using). Mix well to combine all flavors. Stir in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and cook for an additional minute.
- If desired, stir in the cornstarch mixed with water. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli evenly.
Notes
- Use fresh broccoli for a crisper texture and better flavor.
- Avoid overcooking the broccoli; it should be tender yet crisp.
- Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce amounts to your taste preference.
- Serve immediately for optimal flavor and texture.
