Start your day with these irresistibly soft and sweet Golden Morning Rolls. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a delightful morning treat, these homemade breakfast rolls are fluffy, golden, and easy to make. With a tender dough and a touch of sweetness, they’ll become a favorite part of your morning routine.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • Optional: cinnamon sugar or sweet glaze for topping

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, 1 teaspoon sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl or stand mixer, blend remaining sugar, salt, and flour. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Punch down the dough, then divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round or oval shape and arrange in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined sheet.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the shaped rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes until puffy. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Brush with butter or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before baking if desired.
  5. Allow the rolls to cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze or honey. Serve warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, brush the rolls with melted butter right after baking.
  • For added sweetness, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
  • You can add nuts or dried fruits into the dough for extra texture.
  • Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer storage.
