Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- Optional: cinnamon sugar or sweet glaze for topping
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, 1 teaspoon sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, blend remaining sugar, salt, and flour. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, then divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round or oval shape and arrange in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined sheet.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the shaped rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes until puffy. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Brush with butter or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before baking if desired.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze or honey. Serve warm for the best flavor.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, brush the rolls with melted butter right after baking.
- For added sweetness, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
- You can add nuts or dried fruits into the dough for extra texture.
- Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer storage.
