Golden Honey Garlic Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry is a quick and delicious weeknight meal that combines tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory honey garlic sauce for a flavorful and satisfying dinner. Perfect for busy households, this easy stir-fry packs bold flavors with minimal preparation, making it an ideal choice for a wholesome family meal in just 20-30 minutes.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef strips (sirloin or flank steak)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for extra depth)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by slicing the beef into thin strips against the grain. In a bowl, marinate the beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a teaspoon of cornstarch. Let it sit while preparing the vegetables.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed. Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Mix honey, remaining soy sauce, and oyster sauce (if using) in a small bowl. Pour this over the vegetables in the skillet. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, tossing everything together.
  5. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the skillet and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli evenly.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds if desired, and serve hot over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced beef for quick cooking and maximum flavor.
  • Keep the heat high for a good sear and cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  • Sprinkle with chopped green onions or a squeeze of lime before serving for extra flavor.
