- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- In a shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
- Dip each chicken breast into the beaten eggs, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently.
- Place the coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Remove from oven, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken, then sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and browned.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve immediately with pasta, vegetables, or your favorite side.
