Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 1/4 cup water or plant-based milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika (optional for extra smoky flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the cauliflower and cut into evenly sized florets.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, water, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to make a smooth batter.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, then place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange coated cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
- While cooking, combine hot sauce and olive oil in a small bowl. Adjust heat level as desired.
- Once cauliflower is crispy, toss in a large bowl with buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
Notes
- Ensure cauliflower florets are dry before battering for best adherence.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to promote crispiness.
- Sprinkle buffalo seasoning or crushed tortilla chips for extra crunch before air frying.
