These salted caramel apple bars are the perfect autumn dessert combining crispy crust, tender apple slices, and rich salted caramel. Easy to prepare and ideal for holiday gatherings or cozy nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 3 large apples, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish to form the crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and let cool slightly.
  4. Arrange apple slices evenly over the baked crust. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  5. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the apples are tender and the caramel is bubbling.
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes immediately after removing from oven. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
