Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in balsamic vinegar and honey, stirring well. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the pieces. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to meld flavors and let the chicken absorb the glaze.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Swap chicken breasts for thighs for juicier results. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
- This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
- Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or freeze for up to 2 months.
