Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or beef mince
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (for flavor)
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by gathering all ingredients. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger to ensure they blend smoothly into the sauce.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Break apart the meat as it cooks. Remove excess fat if necessary and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender but still crisp. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, and a splash of water to create a flavorful sauce.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir well to coat evenly. Add the broccoli back into the skillet and toss to combine. Drizzle with sesame oil and cook for another 2 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen broccoli — both work well. For frozen, thaw and drain excess water before stir-frying.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with diced chicken or firm tofu.
- Serve immediately for optimal crunch of the broccoli. Reheat gently to preserve texture.
