Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add milk and vanilla extract, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
- Fold in diced apples gently.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop tablespoon-sized dollops of batter into hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
