Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add superfine sugar, beating until stiff glossy peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in vinegar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  4. Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping into a circular disk with a slight indent in the center.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off oven and let cool completely inside the oven.
  6. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  7. Spread whipped cream over the cooled meringue base.
