Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just merged.
  5. Fill donut molds about 3/4 full with batter.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow donuts to cool slightly before glazing.
