- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just merged.
- Fill donut molds about 3/4 full with batter.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool slightly before glazing.
Notes
- For a spicy twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the batter.
- Serve with a drizzle of caramel or cream cheese icing for extra flavor.
