Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: cooked pasta or rice for serving
Instructions
- Start by patting your large shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and melt it. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Pour in heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer, then add grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the sauce thickens slightly and season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly. Cook an extra 1-2 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve hot over cooked pasta, rice, or zucchini noodles. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for the most vibrant flavor.
- Adjust the amount of cream and Parmesan for desired sauce consistency.
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes during garlic sauté.
- Excellent on salads or as party appetizers.
